Focusing on the part about "sharing his water with an evil man", got me thinking about Season 2's premiere episode " Man of Science, Man of Faith" Our own " Brutha", Desmond , shared his water with Jack at the stadium. Shepard wasn't on Jacob's list, as well, like Zach mentioned. Is this a clue about Dr. Jack? And is this where the journey for our Losties actually began, not at the plane crash but with that fateful meeting of Jack and Desmond, thus putting into motion the events that "it will be the same in 100 years" i.e. everyone is dead?
